American Daughters

Named after a Jack Kerouac quote that turned out not to exist, Jake Marsden created American Daughters to while away unending time alone during the pandemic producing melancholic bedroom bangers. With singer-songwriter influences ranging from Slaughter Beach, Dog and John K. Samson to Phoebe Bridgers and inspiration from Tyler, The Creator and Gorillaz, AD’s first self-made single Youth Hostel Association Blanket is a cathartic insomniac anthem, full of the wishful thinking, loneliness and desperation of lying awake in different states of mind throughout the course of a night alone.
