Brodie Milner wears his songs like an ill fitted suit. Combining intelligent lyricism with intricate melodies, his music feels nuanced, evocative, and a bit too sad for a summer’s party. Listeners can expect to hear influences from the likes of John Martyn, Sharon Van Etten, and some old novelists you might not have heard of.
Brodie has always stayed close to his Yorkshire roots. After cutting his teeth on the Bridlington folk circuit, he looked for inspiration in the music scenes of York and Hull. Finally, Brodie found his way to Leeds, following the rhythms of Jazz, Electronic, and Indie. For the past five years, West Yorkshire has remained his home as he continues to write, record, and steal from the best musicians in the area.
Gigs to date include headline shows in Leeds, festival appearances at the likes of Humber Street Sesh, and support slots for Seafret, Twisted Wheel, and Scott Matthews.
